General Information

  • Parking

    We offer ample free parking on gravel at the front of The Retreat for all guests and visitors.

    For easy access to The Barn and Sauna, please use our overflow gravel car park located to the left of the building.

  • Four Legged Guests

    Our bedrooms welcome dogs for a £10 charge a night and the cottage for £25 a stay. When booking at Colin Nash Restaurant, please mention you’ll be dining with your furry friend so they can reserve a pet-friendly table for you.

    Dogs are welcome throughout the grounds, we kindly ask that you clean up after them using our designated waste bins.

  • Accessibility

    The Retreat’s ground floor is wheelchair accessible via the front entrances, with a disabled-access toilet in the restaurant.

    The surrounding grass lawns are wheelchair-friendly when dry. Please note, all bedrooms are accessible only by stairs, and the car park is gravel.

    If attending an event in one of the studios, please inform a staff member for assistance.

  • Transport

    Trains
    Hinton Admiral (5-minute drive) and New Milton (10-15 minute drive) train stations are the closest to The Retreat, offering access to Bournemouth, Christchurch, the New Forest, and direct links to London. Please note, we are located on the main road (A35) and do not recommend walking to the stations. There are no bus routes to The Retreat.

  • Grounds

    Our stunning grounds are yours to explore during your stay. Wander through the lush lawns and uncover hidden gems like the Victorian Curved Wall, Walled Garden, and Setter’s Cottage. For a longer stroll, venture through our back gate to enjoy a scenic circular walk with views of grazing farm animals.

    Beyond our grounds, the New Forest National Park awaits, along with the picturesque coastline. Discover the enchanting village of Burley, the historic town and quay of Christchurch, or the beautiful stretch of coastline from Highcliffe to Bournemouth beach. Keep going, and you'll reach the incredible Jurassic Coast!
