‘You can’t do what you want until you know what you are doing’

- Moshe Feldenkreis

What is somatic sensing?

Somatic sensing works with - the material of the mind and body.

We come into a mindful state with the body, sensation, emotions and habits.

We have our whole lifetime stored up in the cells of our body - material which is unconscious to our thinking mind, yet it’s the storehouse of our core beliefs.

These core beliefs create our ‘worldview’ they are the lenses in which we perceive the world and ourselves - they contribute to body structure, posture, alignment and tone.

In somatic sensing we aren’t trying to ‘fix’ anything, we are discovering and uncovering with great curiosity the beliefs behind what drives our behavioural patterns.

It’s these behavioural patterns which dictate the quality of our relationships - to others and to ourselves.

Therefore, if we find ourselves with great difficulty at times in our emotional world (experiencing them or the abscence of them), somatic sensing can help us to become more conscious and therefore more autonomous in our life decisions.

We gain self sovereignty in the light of awareness of what were previously auto pilot patterns.

A somatic sensing session may take various forms, some body movement, some meditation, group work, solo work, art therapy, deep relaxation.

The intention at the heart of all the sessions is that we are facilitating a safe space for self study - to know ourselves.

To do this, we come into relationship with the body.

Ultimately it’s this embodiment that really grounds us in our authentic expression - who we really truly are in our heart.

About Juliette

Juliette has been teaching yoga and meditation for over 13 years. Her passion has become her life path: the study of human behaviour.

Close to completing her Certification in Hakomi - a body centered psychotherapy, she draws upon all of her wisdom gained from various traditions, in Buddism, Yoga, Psychotherapy, Neuroscience, and Psychology.

Most importantly, and no doubt her most imperessive credential - her own life experience of falling down her own holes, suffering, joys, break throughs, falling apart and searching for answers, to arrive at ever deepening levels of empathy and compassion for humankind.

Juliette is also the co- founder of Woman Empowered, a collaborative project which brings women together to explore embodying both masculine and feminine energies, Yin and Yang, and how to bring these into alignment for each unique individual to feel they are expressing their truest, most authentic selves.
